Understanding MRI Cardiac With Contrast
What is MRI Cardiac With Contrast?
The test, MRI Cardiac with contrast, is recommended to detect or monitor cardiac disease. The test provides a detailed and more precise view of the heart muscle and blood flow. Patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators must inform technologists before an MRI procedure.
Contrast agents used for MRI carry a low risk of allergic reactions. After the test, the patient will be under observation for any side effects or reactions to the contrast dye. However, patients with kidney problems might have a severe reaction to the contrast dye. It is advised to avoid caffeine for 12 hours and fast for 4 hours before the test.
What is MRI Cardiac With Contrast used for?
