CECT Scan Fore Arm
Understanding CECT Scan Fore Arm
What is CECT Scan Fore Arm?
A CECT Fore Arm, also called Contrast-Enhanced Computerized Tomography Fore Arm, is a medical imaging technique that provides detailed 3D images of the regions in the forearm. It allows radiologists and physicians to identify and assess various problems in the forearm, including bone fractures, ligament injury, swelling, and sprain. In this, a scanner emitting series of X-rays are used after the administration of contrast dye material to highlight the target regions in the forearm.
Increased exposure to radiation during a CECT Fore Arm scan might cause side effects like mild skin rashes and allergic reactions, which usually subside within a few minutes. An abnormal CECT Fore Arm scan may indicate inflammation due to tendon injury, tumors, tears in muscle and ligaments in the forearm.
What is CECT Scan Fore Arm used for?
- • To detect the fractures of the bones of the fore arm not visible on a simple X-ray • To detect the cause of any unexplained pain in the fore arm • To detect any infection, injury or inflammation of the soft tissues like the muscle, the tendons and ligaments of the fore arm • To diagnose any suspected infection, osteoporosis, deformities or abnormal growth of the bones and arthritis (inflammation of the joints)
