How Texara Products work
Tazarotene is a form of vitamin A. It works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells, and blocks certain substances which cause inflammation (redness and swelling) on skin. This reduces scaling and thickening of the skin in psoriasis and clears acne.

Q. How should Texara Gel be applied?
A thin film of the Texara Gel should be applied once daily in the evening. Care should be taken to apply it only to areas of affected skin, avoid application to healthy skin or in skin folds. Treatment is limited to 10% body surface area (approximately equivalent to the total skin area of one arm).
Q. Does Texara Gel help with acne scars?
Texara Gel is used for treating acne along with reducing blackheads and whiteheads. It acts by slowing skin cell overgrowth and decreasing skin cell inflammation, which can lead to acne.
Q. How long does it take Texara Gel to work?
The recommended duration differs for different ailments. The symptoms of acne usually improve within 4 weeks of treatment with Texara Gel. However, for treating psoriasis, the symptoms may take about 1 to 4 weeks in showing improvement. Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse.
Q. Is Texara Gel good for skin?
Yes, Texara Gel has been identified to be useful for skin. It works by increasing the thickness of the outer skin layers which helps in reducing facial wrinkles and discoloration. It is generally helpful in patients who are using other skin care and sunlight avoidance programs.
Q. What precautions do I need to follow while applying Texara Gel?
Texara Gel should not be used on healthy, eczematous or inflamed skin, as it may cause severe irritation. Externally used medications and cosmetics that have a strong drying effect should be avoided. Weather extremes, such as wind or cold, may be more irritating to patients using Texara Gel. Avoid excessive exposure to UV rays (sun, solarium, PUVA therapy, or UVB therapy) during the treatment. Use sunscreen and protective clothing during Texara Gel therapy.
Q. Is Texara Gel safe to be used in pregnancy?
Texara Gel is not advised to be taken during pregnancy. An effective birth control should be used for a woman of child bearing potential. However, in order to conceive, consult your doctor about a time period after which pregnancy can be contemplated after using Texara Gel. In case you become pregnant while using this medicine, stop using it and contact your doctor immediately as this product may cause birth defects.
Q. Can I use cosmetics while using Texara Gel?
Cosmetics and skin care products can be used but preferably 1 hour before or after using Texara Gel. This is done so that the cosmetics/skin care products are allowed to pass slowly through the skin and absorbed completely. Avoid using products which have excessive drying effects.
