Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) is a combination of four medicines: Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)1, Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)2, Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)3 and Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)4 which treat skin infections. Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)1 is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)2 is an antibiotic with additional antifungal action. It works by preventing the growth and multiplication of both bacteria and fungi. Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)3 is also an antibiotic which specifically kills bacteria by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate + Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin)4 is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
