Frequently asked questions about Colmox Products
Frequently asked questions about Amoxycillin
Q. Can I give Colmox Oral Suspension to my child repeatedly for a long time?
Giving your child Colmox Oral Suspension for a long term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Colmox Oral Suspension to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Colmox Oral Suspension can make the bacteria resistant.
Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Colmox Oral Suspension?
Although rare, Colmox Oral Suspension may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Colmox Oral Suspension?
Colmox Oral Suspension can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Colmox Oral Suspension. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Colmox Oral Suspension?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
In the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.
Q. Is Colmox Oral Suspension safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?
No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Colmox Oral Suspension.
