Side Effects of Apderm are Muscle weakness, Irregular menstrual cycle, High blood pressure, Fluid retention, Sodium retention, Heart failure, Decreased potassium level in blood, Hypokalemic alkalosis, Loss of muscle mass, Steroid myopathy, Osteoporosis, Tendon rupture, Bone fracture, Peptic ulcer, Pancreatic inflammation, Abdominal distension, Ulcerative esophagitis, Impaired wound healing, Convulsion, Cushingoid syndrome, Growth retardation in children, Angioedema (swelling of deeper layers of skin), Carbohydrate intolerance, Latent diabetes mellitus, Decreased insulin level in blood, Increased intraocular pressure, Glaucoma, Negative nitrogen balance, Hypersensitivity, High white blood cell count, Slow heart rate, Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness).

Methylprednisolone is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies.

Q. Can we use Apderm Cream in infections?
No, Apderm Cream should not be used in infections. It is a steroid medication which suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. The risk of bacterial infections may increase if the area being treated is covered with a dressing after using Apderm Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected or there is any spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Apderm Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Q. How to use Apderm Cream?
Before using Apderm Cream, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be careful not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Apderm Cream gets in your eyes accidentally, wash with plenty of water and call your doctor if your eyes are irritated.
Q. Can I stop taking Apderm Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Apderm Cream even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Still, it is advised to complete the full course of treatment. Stopping Apderm Cream before the prescribed duration may bring back your symptoms of the skin. Consult your doctor if you have any doubts regarding the use or symptoms associated with Apderm Cream.
Q. What are the precautions that are needed to be taken while using Apderm Cream?
Apderm Cream should not be used on the face. Do not use the medication for longer periods of time than you have been advised. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the preparation and increase the risk of side-effects. This medicine should be used only when advised by the doctor. It should not be given to other people even if their condition appears to be the same.

Apderm Cream should not be used in people who are allergic to Apderm Cream or any of its ingredients. Also, its use should be avoided in patients with any kind of infection of the skin, eyes etc. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a baby or breastfeeding to avoid any harm to your baby.
Q. What should I do if I forget to use Apderm Cream?
If you forget to use Apderm Cream, do not worry and continue using Apderm Cream as soon as you remember. However, if you are not sure and have any other doubts, please consult your doctor.
