MR Angiography Brain

Magnetic resonance (MR) angiography brain is a non-invasive technique used to get pictures of blood vessels in the brain. MRA helps identify the blood flow in arteries, aneurysms, blockages, or any abnormalities in blood vessels. A contrast dye may or may not be used during the procedure as it helps to see the images more clearly. MRA of the brain usually does not require contrast.

It is a painless procedure that takes about an hour. The patient must remove all metals, electronic devices, jewelry, and implants from the body and wear a gown before the test. Some patients may experience anxiety or claustrophobia during the procedure. An abnormal test result may indicate narrowing or blockage in blood vessels or any other vascular condition.
