Respiratory tract infections are those infections that can affect the sinuses, throat, airways, or lungs. Moxbro Kid Tablet is used in children for the treatment of a variety of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, lung abscess, acute and chronic bronchitis, and sinusitis. Moxbro Kid Tablet contains two different medicines, Amoxycillin and Bromhexine, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause respiratory tract infections.
Amoxycillin helps in stopping the growth of bacteria. Bromhexine helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes it easier for air to move in and out. This medicine may help your child feel better within a few days, but you should continue giving it as prescribed to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How Moxbro Tablet works
Moxbro Kid Tablet is a mixture of two medicines, Amoxicillin and Bromhexine. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing the formation of the protective covering of bacteria. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent that helps thin and loosen mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Together they both act to treat respiratory tract infections associated with excessive mucus (phlegm).

- Complete the entire course of antibiotics without stopping the medicine in between. Stopping the medicine abruptly may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.

Long-term use of Moxbro Kid Tablet can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe stomach infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own. Strictly adhere to the prescribed dose and consult the doctor if not sure, do not self judge a situation. Additionally, it is important to know that irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Moxbro Kid Tablet can make the bacteria resistant, affecting the future course of treatment.
Are there any possible serious side effects of Moxbro Kid Tablet?
Although rare, Moxbro Kid Tablet may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Therefore, if your child experiences any such unwanted effects, consult your child’s doctor at the earliest.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Moxbro Kid Tablet ?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Change in the color and consistency of mucus in common cold is normal. This does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case the symptoms fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.

No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case. Reports suggest that a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Moxbro Kid Tablet.
