Busuphan 2mg Tablet is used in the treatment of some cancers of blood like chronic myeloid leukaemia. It is used in combination with other cancer medicines during hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (HPCT). It may also be used to treat some other types of cancer.

In Blood cancer (Chronic myeloid leukaemia)
Blood cancer, also called leukemia, is a cancer of the blood-forming tissues, that decreases the body's ability to fight infection. Busuphan 2mg Tablet kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. It is a potent and very toxic medicine and you should discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Side effects of Busuphan Tablet
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
Common side effects of Busuphan
- Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)
- Abdominal pain
- Anxiety
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Decreased magnesium level in blood
- Decreased potassium level in blood
- Diarrhea
- Fever
- Headache
- Increased glucose level in blood
- Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping)
- Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth)
How to use Busuphan Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Busuphan 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
