Busulfan is used in the treatment of blood cancer (chronic myeloid leukaemia). It is used in combination with other cancer medicine during hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (HPCT).
How Busulfan works
Busulfan is an anti-cancer medication. It works by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. This stops their growth and multiplication.
