What is MRI Lumbar Spine?
MRI Lumbar Spine is a non invasive, radio and magnetic waves based diagnostic tool used to visualize the lumbar section of spine. The lumbar spine (lower back) consists of five vertebrae in the lower part of the spine, intervertebral discs, nerves, muscles, ligaments, and blood vessels. It bears the major weight of the body. It is advised by the doctor in case of a person complaining of severe, persistent or sudden back pain accompanied by fever and leg pain suggesting lumbar herniation.
This test can check spinal alignments, abnormalities, tumors or inflammation in the spinal cord, cause of back pain and health of spine after an injury or surgery.
What is MRI Lumbar Spine used for?
