What is Glucose Challenge Test, Pregnancy DIPSI ,75g Glucose, 2hrs?
This test is done during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes, which is a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. The test works by measuring the body's response to glucose after two hours of ingestion of 75 g glucose (flavored or plain, bought from nearby pharmacy) irrespective of the meal timings. It is recommended by the Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group of India (DIPSI).
This test is generally advised during the second or third trimester; however women having a family history of diabetes and/or obesity, and those following a sedentary lifestyle are recommended to get this test done regularly starting from the first trimester of their pregnancy.
This test can be performed during any time of the day.
What does Glucose Challenge Test, Pregnancy DIPSI ,75g Glucose, 2hrs measure?
The glucose challenge test is used to screen for gestational diabetes. The test is generally done between weeks 24 and 28 of pregnancy. However, it can be done as early as your first prenatal visit if you're someone who is at a high risk of gestational diabetes due to obesity, medical history of gestational diabetes, or a family history of diabetes

Interpretations
A blood sugar level of 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) or higher may indicate gestational diabetes.
