How Amiloride + Hydrochlorothiazide works
Amiloride + Hydrochlorothiazide is a combination of two diuretics: Amiloride and Hydrochlorothiazide. They work by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, hydrochlorothiazide also relaxes blood vessels, but causes potassium loss. Amiloride is added as it conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.

- Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate.
- It can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how Amiloride + Hydrochlorothiazide affects you.
- It may increase the level of potassium in your blood. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
