Product introduction

Xifomox Tablet is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in treating infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia). It cures the infection by stopping the further growth of the causative microorganisms.

Xifomox Tablet is used to treat variety of infections caused by multiple organisms which affect various parts of the body

Xifomox Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that is causing the infection. It helps relieve symptoms such as pain, redness, itching or soreness caused due to eye infections. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your condition. Make sure you complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Side effects of Xifomox Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Xifomox Tablet

Driving

Xifomox Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Xifomox Tablet may make you feel dizzy or light-headed, you may experience a sudden, transient loss of vision, or you may faint for a short period. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Xifomox Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Xifomox Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Xifomox Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Xifomox Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available on the use of Xifomox Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

Quick tips

  • You have been prescribed Xifomox Tablet for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication.
  • Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the medication.
