Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension is a combination medicine that is used to treat diarrhea and dysentery. It prevents the growth of microorganisms to treat the infection.

Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension1 and Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension2.

Diarrhea is a condition in which you frequently pass loose, watery stools. Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension helps treat diarrhea by killing the bacteria causing infections as well as prevents them from multiplying. Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension makes the stool less watery as well as reduces the frequency of loose motions. This helps you to stay well and do your daily activities without any problem. Since diarrhea causes loss of fluid from the body, drink plenty of fluids to make sure you stay hydrated.

In Treatment of Dysentery

Dysentery is a bacterial or parasitic infection in which you pass loose and watery stools with blood and mucus. You may have severe stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension works by stopping the growth of bacteria and parasites causing infection. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. In order to prevent the spread of infection, it is advisable to always wash your hands after using the toilet.

Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Baby should be closely monitored for development of fever, loss of appetite and diarrhea. In case, any of the above happens please inform your doctor immediately.
Driving

Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you develop any signs of jaundice like yellowing of eyes and skin, itching, and clay colored stools while taking this medicine.

What if you forget to take Tropenor Suspension?

If you miss a dose of Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to help rehydrate you.

  • Do not use Tropenor 100mg/125mg Suspension if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.
