Telex 8 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

Telex 8 Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: isoniazid and ethambutol which treat tuberculosis.

Side effects of Telex Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Telex Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telex 8 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Telex 8 Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Consuming alcohol while taking Telex 8 Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Telex 8 Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving

Telex 8 Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Telex 8 Tablet occasionally causes sight problems and tingling or numbness in hand or feet. After taking this medicine you should not drive until you know how it affects you.

Kidney

CAUTION

Telex 8 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Telex 8 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Kidney function tests are advisable before the start of this medicine.

Liver

Telex 8 Tablet should be taken on an empty stomach but at the same time every day.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
It may cause dizziness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how Telex 8 Tablet affects you.

Doctor asked me to do TB GOLD test. But there is no lab test on 1mg with so name. Finally I searched for tuberculosis test and I found two test. 1 is Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other 1 is Mycobacterium tuberculosis sputum. Kindly tell me which test is to be selected and proceeded further.
