Metronidazole is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Diloxanide is combined with metronidazole in case of severe intestinal infections. Diloxanide is a luminal amoebicide that acts inside the intestines to kill the infection-causing microorganisms (amoeba). Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine that disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.
