This medicine thus prevents serious health problems that can sometimes be fatal and reduces your risk of death.

Sotalar 40 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving

Sotalar 40 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Sotalar 40 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sotalar 40 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Sotalar 40 Tablet is not recommended in patients with serious kidney disease.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Sotalar 40 Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Sotalar 40 Tablet is recommended.

Sotalar 40 Tablet blocks certain electrical signals in the heart that can cause an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). This way, it helps to restore normal heart rhythm and maintains a regular, steady heartbeat.

Sotalar 40 Tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually, it is taken once or twice daily with or without food. It is to be swallowed whole with water and not to be cut or crushed.

Q. What if I forget to take Sotalar 40 Tablet?

If you forget a dose of Sotalar 40 Tablet take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose for a forgotten dose. Do not stop taking Sotalar 40 Tablet without consulting your doctor. This is because, sudden discontinuation of the medicine may cause recurrence of irregular rhythm of heart or may be worse which can be dangerous.

Yes. Sotalar 40 Tablet can cause dizziness as a side effect. If this happens to you, you should sit or lie down until the symptoms pass. However, this is temporary and usually goes away as the treatment continues. Also, you should avoid alcohol while taking it, as it may worsen the dizziness.

The warning signals of liver toxicity include yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), tiredness, nausea, vomiting, dark-colored urine, pale-colored stools, loss of appetite, stomach pain or high temperature. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms.

Q. What kind of vision problems occur with Sotalar 40 Tablet?

You may experience blurred vision or see a circle around dazzling light (halos). It may also make your eyes dry or sensitive to light. It can even cause permanent blindness. Therefore, consult your doctor in case you experience any such problems while on Sotalar 40 Tablet.
