Product introduction

Sandostatin 0.1mg Injection is used in the treatment of acromegaly, carcinoid tumors, and bleeding esophageal varices. It is also used to prevent complications following surgery of the pancreas.

Sandostatin 0.1mg Injection is used to treat abnormal growth of body due to increased production of chemicals that help in growth process

In Acromegaly

Acromegaly is a condition that is caused by overproduction of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. Sandostatin 0.1mg Injection helps to reduce the increased levels of growth hormone, restores them to normal and therefore prevents complication of acromegaly such as diabetes or heart diseases. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.

In Carcinoid tumours

I am undergoing treatment for Neuroendocrine Tumor since 19th November 2015. I am taking an injection, Sandostatin LAR 20mg, since 30th November 2015 every four weeks intervals. After taking 12 injections, I stopped it for 15 weeks according to doctor's advice. But restarted the same injection when I had loose motion. I have taken 18 injections so far. I am not taking any other medicines. My weight was only 67 kgs on 20th Nov. 2015, now my weight is 75 kgs. I have no health problems so far, I am following my normal life as other healthy guys Please advise me how long should I take this expensive injection.
