Introduction of Rhe-FD Tablet

Rhe-FD Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

Rhe-FD Tablet is a combination of rifampicin, isoniazid, and ethambutol.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs but can affect other parts of the body as well. Rhe-FD Tablet helps treat tuberculosis by stopping the growth of bacteria causing infection. Your symptoms might improve after using Rhe-FD Tablet. However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Side effects of Rhe-FD Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Rhe-FD Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rhe-FD Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Rhe-FD Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Consuming alcohol while taking Rhe-FD Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Pregnancy

Rhe-FD Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Rhe-FD Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Rhe-FD Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Rhe-FD Tablet occasionally causes sight problems and tingling or numbness in hand or feet. After taking this medicine you should not drive until you know how it affects you.
Kidney
CAUTION
Rhe-FD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rhe-FD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Kidney function tests are advisable before the start of this medicine.
Liver
CAUTION
Rhe-FD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rhe-FD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Ideal methods to gain healthy weight: a] Start your day healthy with fruits(no tea/coffee). Include proteins rich foods such as fish, egg white and sprouts in your diet b] Eat right and also go for exercises. If you only eat, you won't gain much protein. You will just pile up fat and that's not good. c] Join a fitness club or gym in your locality. Make sure the instructors are well-trained. Exercises should be preferably done in the morning. I would suggest you to do a little bit of cardio for warm-up and then go for strength training to build muscle. After you finish your workout, you should take a good protein supplement within 20 minutes. d] If you would like to include additional protein supplement, buy a box of whey protein powder. Also Include acidic fruits such as orange and lemon in your diet for better protein absorption.

Q. What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Rhe-FD Tablet?

Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.

Yes, Rhe-FD Tablet contains rifampicin which can cause temporary discoloration of your teeth, sweat, urine, saliva, and tears (red, orange, or brown color). This side effect is usually not harmful. However, discoloration of urine can be a sign of liver damage. Call your doctor if you have discoloration of urine with stomach pain, loss of appetite, and jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes).

Q. Can I discontinue Rhe-FD Tablet if I feel well?

No, do not discontinue Rhe-FD Tablet. Take the proper course of the drug that has been prescribed to you even if you begin to feel better. If you stop taking Rhe-FD Tablet, your infection may become worse and difficult to treat. It may even result in drug-resistant TB i.e. drugs you were taking may no longer work for Tuberculosis.

Q. Can Rhe-FD Tablet cause visual impairment?

Rhe-FD Tablet contains Ethambutol, which may cause visual impairment. Inform the doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your eyesight.
