Olmin 40-H Tablet is a combination of two medicines. It helps to control high blood pressure in different ways. If high blood pressure is not treated it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.

Olmin 40-H Tablet is a combination of two medicines namely Olmesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling your blood pressure effectively. Olmesartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is known as a diuretic (water pill) which increases urine output thereby lowering blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

The serious side effects of Olmin 40-H Tablet include skin rash or itchiness, painful joints, fast heart beat, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest. Serious side effects may also include aching, tender or weak muscles not caused by exercise and swelling of the hands, feet or ankles. Olmin 40-H Tablet may also cause symptoms that may indicate high potassium levels in the blood, such as nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness and change in heart rhythm. Can Olmin 40-H Tablet affect my fertility or sex life?

Olmin 40-H Tablet is generally considered safe to be taken for long term. In some cases, long-term use may adversely affect the kidneys and the kidneys may not function as they should. Can I take Olmin 40-H Tablet before surgery?
Your doctor may advise you to stop taking Olmin 40-H Tablet 24 hours before surgery. This is because Olmin 40-H Tablet can further reduce your blood pressure when used with anesthetics. So, inform your doctor that you are taking Olmin 40-H Tablet if you will be given general anesthetics (medicines that put you to sleep) or are scheduled to have any surgery.
