Myocin Injection is an antidote medicine that prevents serious side effects if a person has taken more than the normal or recommended amount of a medicine called paracetamol which leads to an overdose. Initially, there may be mild gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, irritability, etc. But, if left untreated, paracetamol overdose may cause serious liver damage, which may even lead to liver failure. Rarely, an excessive overdose may lead to a coma. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit from this medication.

Unopened vials of Myocin Injection should be stored at room temperature. Once the medicine is opened and diluted it should be used within 3 hours as per the directions of the physician. It should not be stored above 25ºC. Once opened, the vials should be stored in refrigeration and if unused then should be discarded after 96 hours.
