Introduction of Met XL R Tablet ER

Met XL R 25/5 Tablet is a medicine used for treating high blood pressure. By lowering the blood pressure, it helps in preventing future heart attack and stroke. Early treatment with this medicine also improves chances of survival in patients of heart attack.

Met XL R 25/5 Tablet is a combination of two antihypertensive medicines.

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Met XL R 25/5 Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also blocks the effects of some chemicals on your heart and blood vessels. This slows down your heart rate and helps the heart beat with less force. As a result, your blood pressure is lowered and this helps in reducing your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future. This medicine needs to be taken regularly to be effective, so keep taking it even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Met XL R 25/5 Tablet.
Pregnancy

Met XL R 25/5 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Met XL R 25/5 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Met XL R 25/5 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Met XL R 25/5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL R 25/5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.
Liver
CAUTION
Met XL R 25/5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL R 25/5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine.

What if you forget to take Met XL R Tablet ER?

If you miss a dose of Met XL R 25/5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • You have been prescribed Met XL R 25/5 Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • Met XL R 25/5 Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. 
  • It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  • Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking this medication.
  • Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it can cause a sudden increase in your blood pressure.

there is no such medicinemet xl is there do u want that
Diabetic from 5 years, was under control with Met-500,G-1,Piag-15. then Piag was banned,so medicine switched to Met-500 Gil-2, but no glucose control. Now suggest medicine, preferably no insulin, NB. I was being suggested Gliptin with met,, suggest Lina or Sita with dosage.
