Luramax 40 Tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, a mental disorder that can result in hallucinations or delusions and also adversely affects a person’s ability to think and behave. It can also be used to treat depression, mania, and bipolar disorders.
Luramax 40 Tablet is used to treat schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease (a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement and balance) in whom other medicines have not worked.

Luramax 40 Tablet should be avoided during pregnancy unless this has been prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will monitor your baby closely after birth because giving Luramax 40 Tablet during the last 3 months to the mother may cause shaking, sleepiness, agitation, breathing problems, difficulty in feeding and muscle stiffness and/or weakness in the baby.

Luramax 40 Tablet may cause an increase in blood sugar levels in diabetic patients or those having risk factors for diabetes. It may also decrease white blood cell count and increase prolactin, cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Therefore, during treatment with Luramax 40 Tablet, your doctor may get blood tests done to check for blood sugar levels, blood cell counts, prolactin levels (hormone) and cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
How should Luramax 40 Tablet be taken?
Luramax 40 Tablet should be swallowed whole with water in order to mask the bitter taste.
