Product introduction

Lopamide Tablet is used in the treatment of diarrhea. It should not be used in patients with dysentery (diarrhea with blood).

It is an anti- diarrhoeal medicines.

In Diarrhea

Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements or loose watery bowel movements. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Side effects of Lopamide Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Driving

Lopamide Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Lopamide Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Lopamide Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Lopamide Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lopamide Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Can Lopamide Tablet be used for stomach cramps, nausea, stomach flu, rota virus diarrhea and gas?

Lopamide Tablet may benefit few cases of stomach cramps or nausea associated with diarrhea. It is sometimes used for stomach flu, rota virus diarrhea. It is not used for gas. Please consult your doctor before taking the drug.

Can I take Lopamide Tablet with cimetidine?

Cimetidine can decrease the metabolism of Lopamide Tablet, increase its blood levels and hence, increase its effects and side effects. Your dose of Lopamide Tablet may needs to be decreased. Consult your doctor prior to taking both the drugs together.
