Iopar-SR Capsule is a medicine used to reduce pressure in the eyes. This pressure can be caused by or lead to an illness called glaucoma. If the pressure in your eye is too high it can damage your sight. Iopar-SR Capsule works by decreasing the amount of fluid inside the eye.

Iopar-SR Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. It helps reduce pressure in your eyes that can lead to an illness called glaucoma. If the pressure in your eye is too high, it can damage your sight. Take it regularly as prescribed by your doctor. If you stop taking it, the pressure in your eye will not be controlled. This could lead to a loss of sight.
How to use Iopar Capsule SR
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Iopar-SR Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Iopar Capsule SR works
Iopar-SR Capsule is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It works in glaucoma by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.

Iopar-SR Capsule reduces the pressure inside the eyes, known as intraocular pressure. This helps to reduce the risk of damage to the optic nerve responsible for normal vision. If the pressure in the eye is not controlled, it can gradually lead to blindness. Iopar-SR Capsule effectively controls ocular hypertension and certain types of glaucoma by decreasing the pressure in the eyes.
Who should not take Iopar-SR Capsule?
You should not take Iopar-SR Capsule if you have or ever had cirrhosis, severe liver or kidney disease, an electrolyte imbalance, adrenal gland failure, or an allergy to Iopar-SR Capsule or sulfa drugs. Also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or are breastfeeding to avoid any harmful effect on your baby.
