It works by producing antibodies against foreign substances thereby fighting against infection. It is also used to increase the blood count (platelets) in persons with a certain blood disorder (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura-ITP). This helps stop bleeding and promote the formation of blood clots.

Also, Intaglob 16.5% Injection which has sucrose, fructose or maltose as an ingredient in it is more likely to cause kidney damage.
