According to American Pychiatric Association, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) affects about 5 percent of children and about half of them carry those symptoms into adulthood.The basic symptoms include inattentiveness, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. ADHD in children manifests as lack of attention, being accident prone and disturbance in academic performance. In adults, fidgetiness is often sign of hyperactivity. Other common manifestations are disorganized, forgetful and clumsy adult who appears to have difficulty in handling responsibilities. Once diagnosed, management includes Medicines and psychotherapy. It is an ongoing process and not a few month course to get rid of problem. Coping is a major part of symptom management.

Inability to concentrate can be because of stress, anxiety, boredom, preoccupation with a bothersome thought or Attention Deficit Disorders. Identifying the cause helps us deal with the problem. In the mean time, make a time schedule for the day. Include regular exercise and stress reducing activities like sports or a hobby. Make small goals and revise within 12 hours of studying a topic. If you can't study alone, find a study partner. Inspiral is for treating ADHD. It's a schedule X drug and diagnosis needs to be confirmed before a psychiatrist prescribes it.

According to you, your diagnosis is Narcolepsy. Your history is inadequate to reach a diagnosis. Adderal is not available in India. Methylphenidate( concerts) is the only option among psychostimulants available to us here. You may try an immediate release Indian formulation like Inspiral which has worked better for some of my patients with Narcolepsy and ADHD. Your doctor can guide you further.
