Evaira Injection helps to treat breast cancer and it may be used alone or in combination with other medicines or treatment modalities like chemotherapy. This medicine is used when other medicines have not shown significant improvement and the cancer has spread to other parts as well. It relieves the symptoms of breast cancer such as breast lumps, bloody discharge from nipples or changes in the shape or texture of the breast. Evaira Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. Discuss with your doctor if any of the side effects bother you.

How Evaira Injection works
Evaira Injection is an anticancer medication. It works by interfering with the microtubule structures which help the cancer cells to divide and multiply. This blocks the growth cycle (cell cycle) of cancer cells and eventually kills them.

Is hair loss caused by Evaira Injection irreversible?
Hair loss is a common side effect of Evaira Injection. It could be reversible but the severity of hair loss varies from person to person. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding hair loss.
How long can I stay on Evaira Injection?
Evaira Injection is usually given on Days 1 and 8 of each recommended 21-day cycle. The duration of treatment varies from person to person. The number of cycles required for effective treatment will be decided by your doctor. Depending on the results of your blood tests, the doctor may need to delay administration of the medicine until the blood tests return to normal. If required, the doctor may also decide to reduce the dose you are given.
How is Evaira Injection Mesylate administered?
Evaira Injection will be given to you by a doctor or healthcare professional as an injection into a vein, over a period of 2 to 5 minutes. The dose required will be decided based on your body surface area (expressed in square metres, or m2) which is calculated from your weight and height. The doctor may adjust the usual dose based on your blood test results or other factors. To ensure that the whole dose of Evaira Injection is given, it is recommended that a saline solution is flushed into the vein after Evaira Injection is given.
What are the serious side effects of Evaira Injection?
Evaira Injection can cause serious side effects which include low white blood cell count (neutropenia). This can lead to serious infections that could lead to death. It can also cause numbness, tingling, or pain in your hands or feet (peripheral neuropathy). Peripheral neuropathy is common with Evaira Injection and sometimes can be severe. It can cause harm to the baby when administered to a pregnant woman.
When can I plan a pregnancy if I am using Evaira Injection?
Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception during and up to 3 months after treatment with Evaira Injection.It may cause serious birth defects and should not be used if you are pregnant unless it is thought clearly necessary after carefully considering all the risk to you and the baby.
What precautions should be followed while handling Evaira Injection?
Evaira Injection should be handled carefully. Avoid any contact with skin, eyes, mouth and insides of nose. It is recommended to use gloves, goggles, and protective clothing while handling the medicine. If the skin comes into contact with the solution, it should be washed immediately and thoroughly with soap and water. Similarly, if your eyes, mouth or nose come in contact with Evaira Injection, flush the area thoroughly with water. Pregnant staff should not handle Evaira Injection.
In which solution should Evaira Injection injection be diluted?
Evaira Injection may be diluted in up to 100 ml of sodium chloride 9 mg/ml (0.9%) solution and not in 5% dextrose. It should be given under the supervision of a physician experienced in giving cancer chemotherapy and should be administered by a health care professional only.
