Emefast-O Tablet is a combination of two medicines which is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. It is used only when prescribed by a doctor. This medicine works by controlling the acidity and altering the chemicals in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting.

In Nausea

Emefast-O Tablet blocks the action of chemicals in the body that can make you feel or be sick. It is often used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused due to some medicines or cancer treatment. This medicine helps you recover more comfortably from cancer treatments such as radiation therapy or chemotherapy. It is also effective at preventing nausea and vomiting after an operation (in adults only). The dose will depend on what you are being treated for but always take this medicine as it is prescribed.

Side effects of Emefast O Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Emefast O Tablet

Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Emefast-O Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Emefast-O Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Emefast-O Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Emefast-O Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Emefast-O Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Emefast-O Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease. Limited information is available in patients taking this medicine for more than one day.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Emefast-O Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Emefast-O Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

What if you forget to take Emefast O Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Emefast-O Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
