Dipnate-G Ointment is a prescription medicine having a combination of medicines that is used to treat skin infections. It inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause infections and reduce the redness, swelling, and itchiness due to infections.

Dipnate-G Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Dipnate-G Ointment1 and Dipnate-G Ointment2 which treat skin infections.

In Bacterial skin infections

Dipnate-G Ointment is an antibiotic and is used to treat skin infections like eczema, psoriasis, boils, impetigo (red sores on face), infection in the hair follicle etc. It may also be used to prevent infections in small cuts, wounds, burns or ulcers on your skin. Apply 2-3 times in a day to get relief from itching, swelling and redness caused by infection. You might see a change in your skin appearance in a week if used as prescribed by your doctor. Results might vary from person to person depending on your skin condition. Make sure you complete the full course of treatment to ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

How to use Dipnate-G Ointment

How Dipnate-G Ointment works

Dipnate-G Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Gentamicin. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth on the skin by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

If you miss a dose of Dipnate-G Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Quick tips

  • Dipnate-G Ointment is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections.
  • It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film, two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. 
  • Do not apply it to broken skin and avoid getting it in your eyes, nose or mouth. 
  • Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • It may cause temporary burning, itching or a redness at application site. This is usually mild. Consult your doctor if you experience a more severe reaction.
  • Inform your doctor if your skin problem hasn't improved after seven days of treatment.

I went through surgery on 24 aug 2015 regarding PERINAL ABSCESS. It took approx 7 months after surgery to recover but still bond between skin was not formed. Due to the skin getting seperated even after joining the suggested me to the clean the skin cells so that fine bond can be obtained between the skin. During surgery for the 2nd time found FISTULA that surgery that took place on 9 june 2016. Dressing is going on continously . The said that fistula is known for its recurrences. So can any preventive measures can be taken in order to avoid its recurrence. Thanking you in advance.
