Introduction of CTD-MT Tablet ER

CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. It also removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body.

CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is a combination of antihypertensives and diuretic medicines.

CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Side effects of CTD-MT Tablet ER

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Pregnancy

CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is not recommended in these patients.
Liver
CAUTION
CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you forget to take CTD-MT Tablet ER?

If you miss a dose of CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • You have been prescribed CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent stroke and heart attack.
  • It may cause more frequent urination. Take it at least 4 hrs before bedtime to avoid waking up to urinate.
  • It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  • It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
  •  Do not stop taking CTD-MT 12.5/50/40 Tablet ER suddenly without talking to your doctor.
