Carrol Tablet
- Take your pill at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
- Do not use Carrol Tablet if you are obese, over 50, smoke, on prolonged bed rest or have a history of blood clots.
- Stop taking it and inform your doctor if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain or changes in vision.
- You may experience vaginal spotting (blood stain) or breakthrough bleeding while taking Carrol Tablet. This is temporary, inform your doctor if it lasts longer.
- If your period fails to come within a week after completing your course, do not start the next course, before consulting your doctor.
- It works as a contraceptive. So, do not use any additional hormonal contraceptives when using this medicine.

What is Carrol Tablet?
Carrol Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol. It treats PCOS symptoms such as acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) and irregular periods. Cyproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens (male hormones) in the ovaries, thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood circulation.
How and in what dose should I take Carrol Tablet?
Carrol Tablet has to be started on day 1 or 2 of your menstrual cycle. Take it as per the duration advised by your doctor. However, it is recommended to take it at the same time of each day. This will ensure consistent levels of medicine in your body.
What if I miss a dose of Carrol Tablet?
If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible. If the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, you should not take the missed dose and simply continue the usual dosing schedule. However, to prevent pregnancy another non-hormonal birth control (like condoms) method should be used during this cycle. Frequent missing of doses, may also cause unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting (blood stain). If it lasts long, consult your doctor.
What if I vomit after few hours of taking Carrol Tablet?
If vomiting occurs within 3-4 hours of taking the tablet, you must repeat the dose.
Does Carrol Tablet also work as a contraceptive?
Yes, if taken as advised, Carrol Tablet also acts as a contraceptive. Discontinue using any other birth control pill while taking Carrol Tablet.
What are the common side effects of taking Carrol Tablet?
The most common side effects associated with Carrol Tablet are nausea, stomach pain, increased weight, headache, altered mood, and breast pain. Most of these symptoms are temporary. However, if they persist, check with your doctor as soon as possible.
How long will Carrol Tablet take to reduce acne?
Usually, you will be able to notice improvements within 3-4 weeks. However, it is important to finish the full course of treatment to see its full benefit. Inform your doctor if your acne did not get cured even after finishing the full course of treatment.
