Introduction of Cardika AM Capsule

Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). This is a combination of two medicines that controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke.

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Side effects of Cardika AM Capsule

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Cardika AM Capsule

Pregnancy

Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding

Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.
Liver
CAUTION
Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine.

What if you forget to take Cardika AM Capsule?

If you miss a dose of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Persistent high arterial blood pressure above 120/80 mm HG is termed as pre-hypertension or hypertension, but the point to be emphasized is that this rise in blood pressure is persistent. Transient increase in BP occurs in stress and anxiety and needs to be treated accordingly.
