Benibuz-TM Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Benibuz-TM Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Side effects of Benibuz-TM Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

  • Sleepiness
  • Ankle swelling
  • Headache
  • Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk)
  • Dizziness
  • Tiredness

  • Increased potassium level in blood

How to use Benibuz-TM Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Benibuz-TM Tablet is to be taken with food.

Pregnancy

Benibuz-TM Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding

Driving
CAUTION
Benibuz-TM Tablet may cause dizziness or weakness due to low blood pressure. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney

There is limited information available on the use of Benibuz-TM Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Benibuz-TM Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Benibuz-TM Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Benibuz-TM Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you forget to take Benibuz-TM Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Benibuz-TM Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Benibuz-TM Tablet is a combination of two medicines that provides better blood pressure control than either medicine alone.
  • Benibuz-TM Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up.  Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. 
  • Avoid consuming alcohol as it may enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of this medicine.
  • It can cause ankle or foot swelling. Raise your legs while you are sitting down and talk to your doctor if it does not go away.
  • Do not take Benibuz-TM Tablet if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
