Soft tissue sarcoma is a cancer of these soft tissues. There are many kinds, based on the type of tissue they started in. The soft tissues connect, support, or surround other tissues. Examples include, muscles, tendons, fat, and blood vessels.
 
Signs and Symptoms
 
Symptoms include:
1. Lump or swelling in the soft tissue
2. Pain
3. Troubled breathing
No one knows exactly what causes these cancers. They are not common, but you have a higher risk if:
1. Exposed to certain chemicals
2. Have had radiation therapy
3. Have certain genetic diseases
 
Investigations
 
Doctors diagnose soft tissue sarcomas with a biopsy.
 
Treatment
 
Treatments include:
1. Surgery to remove the tumor
2. Radiation therapy
3. Chemotherapy
4. Combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy
